Your Thought as a Car with a Hitch

What makes up
your body
of thought?
They say the average person
has 70,000 thoughts a day
which is 2,916 per hour
or 48 per minute.
If you want something
to be different or improved
you need newer, fresher, better thoughts
than you’ve had before –
lots of them
to tip the balance
from habitual ruts
and squishy bogs of negativity
towards a smoother experience
of unruffled health
and radiantly consistent joy.

Think of your thought as a car with a hitch,
and your body simply as a trailer towed by it.
When your thought moves,
the body directly and effortlessly follows along.
Don’t be looking back at that trailer so much.
Instead, gaze ahead,
looking out the windshield
to where you want to be going.
Focus on the infinite good in front of you
and press the accelerator
to move forward and get yourself there.
The body is just along for the ride,
determined by your choices,
conscious or otherwise.
It doesn’t do any of the thinking,
but will obediently respond
to whatever you project for it.

So how many of your thoughts
are going where you want them to?
Your steering establishes your destination.
You most definitely will get
where you want to be
if only you drive yourself there.
