Advent

Full orbed and pregnantly expecting
the world races around in gestation,
waiting for the babe of reconciliation
to arrive and shepherd us to salvation.
Our yearning hearts
are getting ready,
singing with the angels,
and humbly preparing room
for what’s already present within
–defending against it being crowded out–
while companionably ushering
the holy appearance
to festively,
reverently,
mutually emerge,
healthy, innocent,
beautiful and blessed,
in a collective recognition,
replete with the ultimate
and quixotic hope
of peace on earth.
