New Painting: Blooming Crabapple in Evening Light

New Painting: Blooming Crabapple in Evening Light

Blooming Crabapple in Evening Light (painting in acrylic) by Polly Castor

Here is the painting I did this week of a crabapple tree about a block from our house, captured in the evening’s glowing light. I prepared the cradled wood panel with fiber paste before painting this in acrylic, which gives the work a nice texture. It’s size is 16″x20″ and you can see the process photos below.

I work to amplify good wherever I find it. I love color, texture, beauty, great ideas, nature, metaphor, deliciousness, genuine spirituality, and exploring new territory. I encourage authenticity, nurture creativity, champion sustainability, promote peace, and hope to foster a new renaissance where we all are free to be our most fulfilled, multifaceted, and terrific selves. Polly, How wonderful that you have that crab apple tree right in your neighborhood. There are some breath taking flowering pear trees in my neighborhood that I would love to catch. Thank you for sharing your process photos and your talent.

What a gas! Nicely done. I love it. We had such a tree in our yard; however, laden with fruit, it fell down last year in a big rain storm. I feel better now!
