New Abstract Pastel: Non-Dominant Hand

Polly Castor Abstract Pastel: Non-Dominant Hand

This was painted entirely with my non-dominant hand. The art books encourage you to do it, and our youngest daughter prompted me to give it a try. It was not as bad or as hard as I anticipated. Who knows, maybe I’ll end up painting and sketching both handed simultaneously like John James Audubon did for speed and efficiency’s sake.

This painting is done in pastel on archival board, is 16″ x 20″ and is titled, Non-Dominant Hand. See the entire work above, and some details below.

I work to amplify good wherever I find it. I love color, texture, beauty, great ideas, nature, metaphor, deliciousness, genuine spirituality, and exploring new territory. I encourage authenticity, nurture creativity, champion sustainability, promote peace, and hope to foster a new renaissance where we all are free to be our most fulfilled, multifaceted, and terrific selves.
