Glass Beads We Made

handmade glass beads

Yesterday, on Easter, my sister-in-law hosted a lovely lunch for her family and ours.  We were delighted to notice that she wore the handmade glass bead necklace we made her many years ago and haven’t seen in over a decade!

One Christmas before our youngest was born, my husband and I spent countless meditative hours nursing along molten glass in torches to make unique handmade glass beads for necklaces for all of the women in our respective families (except me!).

My mother’s necklace was even honored to have been on display at the American Craft Museum in NYC.  My sister-in-law’s blue and white necklace was one of my favorites, and it was so good to see it again!  These photos were not done in the best lighting but give you an idea…
